the interview session just finished and i'm just a little discouraged by the fact that only 2 out of the 40-something people that showed up cite Chicago as their first priority. my co-site leader and i ended up having to wait for others to finish picking their first-priority participants before handing the remaining ones to us. there were a couple who has Chicago as their second choice, however, most of them were taken by their first choice of site. so we got the ones that have us as either their third or last choice.
i know sites is a very important factor that participants consider (although it where you serve really isn't as important as who you are serving, it's service after all that we are all after), but i don't wish to have a group of disgruntled people who feels like they have no choice but to go to Chicago (like i'm being a disgruntled co-site leader right now).
this is emotions in play and i think i'm not being professional enough.
anyhow, this piece of encouragement just lifted up my spirit and allow me to see that it's not the end of the world after all:
Sly: I want happy people who wanna go Chicago. Not unhappy people who feel like they have no choice but to go Chicago.
Kartz: Well, as a site leader you should convince them so. And you will :)
a word of encouragement sure goes a looong way :)
